The Government announced earlier this month that the plug-in car grant for Electric and Hybrid Cars would be cut by £1,000 and would no longer apply to hybrid cars with a range of less than 70 zero emission miles. The Department for Transport (DfT) has now confirmed that from the 9th November 2018, grants for new plug in hybrids will be scrapped, while discounted rates on all-electric cars will be cut from £4,500 to £3,500, this is due to exceptional demand and the ongoing success the UK has seen in the take up of greener cars.
